Trauma Informed Care
Our hope, as Light Up the City, is to equip, inform and inspire those in our network. We also want to do the same for your congregations and open trainings, at times, for a broader audience. Our own Dawn Zern hosts trainings for Trauma Informed Care with other Seattle's Union Gospel Mission staff- see below for more details.
Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission is hosting our next Trauma Informed Care training on March 15th from 5:30-7:30pm at Christ the King Bible Fellowship in Federal Way, WA.
This FREE event is great for volunteers that work with anyone who may have experienced trauma, whether that is someone volunteering in a local homeless shelter, a mentoring program for youth, or a Sunday school teacher, this training gets into the nuts and bolts of how trauma affects people, and how we can better serve people who have experienced trauma. This is a similar training that we teach our staff as well, so if you work at a local non-profit and want to send your staff for training we would love to have them join us.
We do have limited space available; so we ask that you please RSVP or GO HERE. We look forward to offering this to as many people as possible. This is a unique opportunity as we do not regularly offer training opportunities in South King County, if this is local for you, I recommend you take advantage of this opportunity.
We’re happy to have you help spread the word to those who may be interested in this training. Any specific questions about this training can be directed to my email.
