Next week, January 30th - 31st, we will gather church leaders from around the Puget Sound- from Vancouver, B.C. to Puyallup- for an annual two-day conference called The Advance. The conference is named The Advance, because we hope to see the Spirit at work, advancing the love of Christ for the cities in our region, among the leaders gathered (Matthew 18:20), in the spirit of unity for the Kingdom of Jesus (John 17). The conference is taking place at First Free Methodist in Lower Queen Anne.
This year's theme will focus on being Rooted and Grounded in Love: Rooted in Christ, Rooted in Relationships, Rooted in Place and Rooted in the Church Body. We will have keynote speakers who will address from their experience on being rooted in these topics and will hear from leaders from Rainier Valley, Puyallup, North Seattle and Edmonds who have worked together across denomination lines to love and serve their cities. The real magic takes place in the time at the table- we seat leaders together geographically, to foster collaboration and prayer for their city/region.
Speakers include the amazing storyteller/former Metro DC cop Jamie Winship, NYC Leadership Center's Ebony Small, Centered.org's Eddie Wang and Doxa Church's Pastor Jeff Vanderstelt. Each speaker brings unique perspective and will inspire and encourage our attendees.
There are a few seats left, if you would like to attend. We suggest getting a team from your city together to worship and experience this time together. Last day of registration is tomorrow- Friday January 26th.
