Volunteer Training: Trauma Informed Care
One of our core principles at LUTC is to provide opportunities to build capacity for our church networks, partners, and volunteers to engage issues the Church feels called to serve. Therefore one of our opportunities (which has become very well-attended this past year), is Trauma Informed Care training, co-led by our own Dawn Zern and sponsored by Seattle's Union Gospel Mission. Please read the information below and view the video to find out more information!

Hope starts with a volunteer.
Join us on Monday, November 7th to learn from local experts, Sarah Arrieta and Dawn Zern from Seattle's Union Gospel Mission.
This is great for volunteers working with people who may have experienced trauma. We will be discussing the Adverse Childhood Experience or ACE Study, and teach you about Trauma Informed Care.
If you work with or volunteer with an audience who has experienced emotional trauma or homelessness, this training will help you better understand how to serve those in need.
This training event is especially helpful for volunteers serving at homeless shelters and residential recovery programs. Please note, this training is not recommended for young children.
This event is free and open to all. You do not need to be a UGM volunteer to attend, feel free to invite others.
