Throughout the holiday season you don’t have to go very far before you will see a bin, barrel or large container collecting toys, coats and food for families in need.
This week, I had the privilege of seeing the other side of the toy and coat drives. I volunteered with Fostering Together’s Secret Santa Toy Giveaway at the DSHS office in West Seattle. This was one of four Secret Santa Toy Giveaways that happened at the DSHS offices throughout King County. Foster parents and relative caregivers could shop for new toys, coats, and shoes. It was a delight to see them take time looking at the tables of toys as they carefully considered what their children would love to open on Christmas morning.
