The Display - a Ministry Event at UW
The Display Northwest is an event which will be held on the University of Washington’s campus at the Husky Union Building (HUB) lawn on Friday, October 2, 2015. The purpose is toput Jesus on display during Dawg Daze, the welcome week on UW’s campus. The event is a large, coordinated effort hosted by Northwest Awaken Family. Over fifty college ministries on UW’s campus desire to communicate a unified message to incoming students this fall: Jesus loves you, and has a great plan for your life.
During planning meetings, campus ministry leaders and local congregations prayed together and felt like the Lord isproviding a great opportunity to share the Gospel with new students. They hope the message of Jesus will be on display as a radical power to change and transform lives on UW’s campus.
The event will include music by Bethel Church, spoken word from UW students, and testimonies. Several campus ministries and local congregations will be present to help students connect with local congregations, bible studies, service opportunities. Volunteers will also be available to pray with students at the event.
Chad and Desi Meis are the coordinators of The Display and help lead a network of college ministries in Seattle. They are hoping and praying for revival in their city and on college campuses like UW. College campuses tend to function as micro cities within the city- last year 44,786 students were enrolled in the graduate and undergraduate programs at the UW alone.
Please pray for the college community this fall as students go back to school and for The Display. If you want to know more about this event, you can visit their Facebook page.
